Scouts are young people aged between 10½ and 14 years of age.
At West End we have one Scout Troop:
Scout Troop (Friday)
For the session times please contact us as we are unable to provide them here.
What we do
Our programme is purposefully created to encourage Scouts to take part in a wide range of activities. We love adventures, but we can also be found exploring our beliefs, helping our community or getting creative. Being outdoors is very important to us – it’s the ‘out’ in ‘scout’! We camp, kayak, cook on open fires, learn first aid, go on night-hikes and much much more.
Recognising achievements
Badges are awarded for a whole variety of life skills and activities. The top award in this section is the Chief Scout's Gold Award. Many of our Scouts achieve this accolade, so why not give it a go?
Uniform
We wear the full Scout uniform – a scout shirt, scarf and woggle, scout navy trousers, scout belt and school shoes.
If you enjoy your time with the troop in the first few weeks then you’ll undertake an investiture, taking the scout promise and agreeing to the scout law.
The Scout Promise
On my honour, I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the King,
To help other people
And to keep the Scout Law
Alternative variations of the promise are available, please see The Scout Promise.
The Scout Law
